Issue Six
The sixth superb issue of the Pocketry Almanack was published in October 2022. It contains poems and art to astonish and astound from the below wordsmiths and artists.




Maddison Cuerton is a Meanjin-based cultural anthropologist who is currently completing her PhD on the topic of medicinal cannabis. When she doesn’t have a viewfinder to her eye, she is writing observational pieces that register the textures and dimensions of lived experience. You can find her on Instagram @cuerton.

Victoria Konash is an artist with broad experience in many hands on crafts, like dressmaking, knitting, wool spinning, leather work and alike. Her primary bachelor degree many years ago was in linguistics and she enjoys writing from time to time although she has never shared her poetry before. Katya Kosogorova is an Australian artist who turns nature into art with the help of reclaimed metal. Her passion is to highlight the beauty of nature in every single piece of art she creates, preserving the way it’s been crafted by nature. Find her at www.tinyland.com.au or @tinylandme.

Jehannah May is a young Sydney-based poet, who has always loved the taste of words. She moonlights as a lawyer but loves writing poetry to pass the time (or procrastinate). She uses words as a form of refuge and revolt.

Orpheus Orion and lives in regional South Australia. They like to create things through mixed media that are inspired by the beauty in nature: human relationships, experiences, landscapes, the senses. F.M Papaz is a literary educator whose pseudonym provides escapism from correcting adolescent grammar in favour of traversing the limitless landscapes of poetic works. She’s zealous for the power of poetry to welcome and process life’s quandries. Her works strive to access both that power and peace when wrestling with the concerns and experiences placed on her heart.
Some Notes on the Sixth Issue
The illustration for the inside page of the Almanack is a photograph of the endpapers of the vintage book, The Life of Dr Johnson by James Boswell (1960, Heron Books).
In keeping with the zine format, the Pocketry Almanack has been printed multiple times and folded by hand.
